St. Francis has a new Bridge Pastor! Pastor Christian Jennert’s first day will be December 15. On December 14
Pr. Jennert will attend worship and be installed as our Bridge Pastor. Bishop Jeff Johnson will also be attending worship that day and presiding at the installation. Weather permitting, there will be group photographs taken on the Memorial Terrace for the website. Otherwise, we will use the sanctuary. After the service, we will have a luncheon to thank Pastor Elizabeth for her time at St. Francis and to welcome Pastor Christian. Pastor Elizabeth will be with us until December 31.
As a reminder, after lunch that day, there will be a special Congregation Meeting to vote on members to serve on the Call Committee and to approve a special credit facility for the Legacy Fund. If you are interested in serving on the Call Committee (3 members from the congregation), please contact Bruce Jervis (jervis.bruce@gmail.com) by November 15.
This is an important day for our congregation made extra special by the attendance of Bishop Jeff. I encourage everyone to please try to attend and bring a friend / many friends.

Installation of our new Director of Music - Sunday, Nov. 30
On Nov. 30, the First Sunday of Advent, we will install Ray Capiral as Director of Music at St. Francis. Please join in worship on this very special Sunday of lighting the first candle in the Advent Wreath and officially welcoming Ray as our Director of Music. It will be a very festive worship service!
Liturgical calendars - In addition to our joyful new beginnings on Nov. 30, every worshipper will receive a Liturgical Calendar to use as a resource throughout the year. Just like a clock helps us to tell time, the Liturgical Calendar is a useful resource to know what season of the church year we are in, what the liturgical colors are for each Sunday, what the gospel reading is for each Sunday and other useful information. The Worship Team encourages you to post it on your refrigerator or other visible space to view it as often as possible!
Joyful Beginnings - Save the Date! Pledge Sunday – Dec. 7
The Stewardship Committee has designated the Second Sunday of Advent, December 7, as Stewardship Sunday for the new giving season. On that day we will conclude our stewardship program and reveal pledge results for 2026. After worship, the Committee will host a light lunch and short program in the Parish Hall. Please join us in celebrating the mission and ministry of St. Francis, and the joyful anticipation of beginning a new chapter in our life together as a congregation.
Our theme for the season is “Joyful Beginnings.” Over the next several weeks, congregation leaders will offer weekly stewardship reflections during worship, to share some ‘new growth’ ideas for our mission and ministry together:
+ Sunday, November 16 – Endowment Committee
+ Sunday, November 23 – Worship & Music Committee
+ Sunday, November 30 – Property Committee
+ Sunday, December 7 – Congregation Council
In support of this vision, and with joyful anticipation for the new year, our 2026 pledge goal is to reach 100% participation. Pledge packets and stewardship materials were mailed at the end of October. If you didn’t receive one, just ask
one of the Ushers after the service today, or contact Irene in the church office: (415) 621-2635, admin@sflcsf.org . Please note that your pledge form will be most helpful if it is received by Tuesday, December 2.
Want to reach Pastor Elizabeth Ekdale during the week? You can reach her by calling the church office at (415) 621-2635, e-mailing the parish office at Admin@sflcsf.org, calling her cell phone at (415) 846-4340, or dropping by the church office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Pr. Elizabeth is also available to bring Holy Communion to those not able to worship in person on Sunday afternoons. Please let her know if you would like a pastoral visit.

Prayer Support and Prayer Ministry Praying for each other is one of the central activities of a Christian Community. It is Christ's design for our life together, and it is a beautiful and powerful gift we can give each other. At St. Francis we offer the following prayer support:
The weekly prayer list: we keep a list of names of people who have asked for prayers either on their own behalf or on behalf of someone else.
The urgent prayer team: a team of people who will lift up a person or group of persons during a crisis or an emergency. (If you would like to join the team, please let the Pastor know).
Prayers offered during worship: Please help us keep the prayer list up to date. If you wish to place a name on the prayer list or remove a name, please contact the parish office at admin@sflcsf.org
Prayers after worship: This evolved from the healing prayer ministry offered before Covid. After worship you may take a seat in one of the pews and a prayer minister will come and sit with you. They will offer support, and if desired will pray for you and anoint you.
