Continue the journey with us this Easter season and join St. Francis this Second Sunday of Easter, April 12, for Holy Communion at 11:00 AM!
We also invite you to join St. Francis next Sunday, April 19, when we will welcome guest preacher Rev. Eric Shafer, Pastor-in-Residence with Global Refuge and a pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Stay for a special coffee hour in which Pr. Eric will share about Global Refuge’s important ministry.
Many thanks! Thank you to everyone—both in front of and behind the scenes—who helped make our Holy Week and Easter services so meaningful. We couldn’t do it without each of you and your generous sharing of time and talents.
Christ in Our Home Devotionals We still have a few copies of the April-June 2026 "Christ in Our Home" devotional available. You can pick one up for you or a friend by asking one of our friendly ushers or by contacting the church office.
Theology on Tap Second Mondays | 6:00–7:30/8:00 PM
Starting April 13 | Pilsner Inn, Church Street (SF)
Faith, questions, good conversation—and maybe a drink. Join us for Theology on Tap, a relaxed evening of community, laughter, and real talk about the things that matter. We’ll explore spiritual and theological questions in a lighthearted, grounded, and distinctly Lutheran way — everything from God and prayer to “why church?” to liturgy and beyond. No prep needed. No pressure. Just bring your curiosity (and maybe a friend). We’ll gather every second Monday at 6:00 PM at the Pilsner Inn. Come as you are, stay as long as you like. All are welcome. For more information, contact Pr. Christian.
Listening & Sharing Circle | Sundays, April 26 & May 3 |12:30 - 1:30 PM
During this time of transition, you are invited to a small, in-person listening and sharing circle following worship. These gatherings are an opportunity to share what has been on your heart and to voice any hopes or questions as we look ahead together. We give thanks for Pr. Bea Chun’s 11 years of faithful ministry at St. Francis, and we recognize that this season may bring a range of emotions for many.
These circles are offered as part of Pr. Christian’s bridge ministry and will be gently facilitated. This time together will last about one hour. You are invited to attend one of the two sessions — whichever date works best for you. There is no agenda or business attached to these sessions—simply space to listen and to share. There is no pressure to speak — come as you are.
Membership
Are you interested in becoming a member of St. Francis? Voting Members are baptized and confirmed adult (or youth) members. They can have their membership transferred from another congregation, or complete a New Member class. Associate Members hold membership in another congregation, but wish to have a more permanent relationship with St. Francis. For more information, please contact Pr. Christian at pastor@sflcsf.org.
Help Us Fill Our Parish Hall Bulletin Board!
As we continue to celebrate the St. Francis community, we’re refreshing the bulletin board in the Parish Hall—and we’d love to include you! We want to create a joyful, welcoming display that reflects the people who make this church feel like home.
Outreach Team member William Brogan will be taking individual headshots during coffee hour and fellowship time to help fill out the board. If you prefer not to be photographed, please let him know — we want everyone to feel comfortable and included. For more information or to schedule your photo, please see William Brogan or another member of the Outreach Team (Kenji Nishiura, Brian Border).
Pr. Christian is available for prayer, spiritual care and conversation The best way to contact him is by email (pastor@sflcsf.org) or by calling the church office at (415) 621-2635. In an urgent situation or emergency, please call his cell phone at (510) 717-3221.
