But I'm A Cheerleader (2000) Megan (Natasha Lyonne) considers herself a typical American girl. She excels in school and cheerleading, and she has a handsome football-playing boyfriend, even though she isn't that crazy about him. So she's stunned when her parents decide she's gay and send her to True Directions, a boot camp meant to alter her sexual orientation.
In addition to the movie there will be pizza, popcorn, candy, beverages and prizes.
Lutheran Disaster Response in the Midwest
Heavy storms brought significant flooding and damage to communities across the upper Midwest. Homes were inundated, roads were washed out, and residents are beginning the difficult work of assessing what was lost. At the same time, severe weather continues to affect communities in many parts of the United States, leaving a trail of damage that will require significant cleanup and long-term recovery.
Together with these local partners, we are helping coordinate responses to urgent needs while also preparing for the long road ahead — debris removal, repair, rebuilding, disaster case management and the ongoing emotional and spiritual care so many survivors need.
Will you make a gift today to support Lutheran Disaster Response’s ongoing storm-recovery efforts? Gifts of any size are deeply appreciated and will be used where the need is greatest, in close partnership with local ministries on the ground.
Theology on Tap | Second Mondays | 6:00–7:30/8:00 PM
Next gathering: June 8 | Pilsner Inn, Church Street (SF)
Faith, questions, good conversation—and maybe a drink. Join us for Theology on Tap, a relaxed evening of community, laughter, and real talk about the things that matter. We’ll explore spiritual and theological questions in a lighthearted, grounded, and distinctly Lutheran way—everything from God and prayer to “why church?” to liturgy and beyond. No prep needed. No pressure. Just bring your curiosity (and maybe a friend).
We gather every second Monday at 6:00 PM at the Pilsner Inn. Come as you are, stay as long as you like. All are welcome. For more information, contact Pr. Christian.
