Friends of St. Francis Childcare Center, a community-based non-profit, endeavors to enrich San Francisco and the world by providing best practice childcare services to culturally and economically diverse families while serving parents through an enduring community of staff, peer parent and professional support.

FOSF offers childcare services to children aged 2-5.  We have eight  2 year-olds, fourteen  3-4 year-olds and sixteen  4 year-olds. Children stay in our program up until they move on to kindergarten. The different age groups are involved in  age-appropriate activities for the morning, and play together for the remainder of the day. The children spend their day between three large rooms and a spacious garden and play area outside. The Center is open five days a week from 7:30 – 6pm.  We offer breakfast, a cooked lunch and two snacks a day.

Our quiet location on Belcher Street is close to Duboce Park and Market Street, with good transportation to most parts of the city.Throughout the year we organize field trips for the children and invite musicians and entertainers to visit the school. We have several volunteer foster grandparents from the Family Service Agency and other intergenerational features. Parents are encouraged to join in many activities, and to be as involved with the Center as their lives allow. We use family support principles in all our work.
