Music plays an important role in the life of the parish.  The liturgy is largely sung and employs a variety of sources and styles.  Hymns both old and new, Lutheran chorales, shape-note, gospel, and orthodox chant, organ music of the great composers and choral motets make up a rich musical patchwork quilt during the Sunday morning service. Music plays a role in the social life of the church as well.  St. Francis hosts concerts throughout the year.  There is often a musical performance at the Wednesday Senior Center and there are semi-annual events like the Pink Saturday show tune cabaret.  At St. Francis, music touches every aspect of our lives, both in the communal singing, in deep reflective moments, or in just having good fun together.
